UK Translation Project Poems on River

Recently I finished my work on a recording for a UK based translation project. I recorded 9 tracks for Musical Presentation & Recitation of some English poems and some poems translated into Gujarati. It was a translation project for a UK based group of artists.

This group is basically working for Environment Change Awareness, mainly on 'rivers'. When they visited India in December 2008, they organized a workshop with some participants from Vallabh Vidyanagar at the bank of river Mahi. They wrote poems on river and made some paintings on river. Then few of these works were translated by Falguni Bharteeya and some other people. English poems were published by this group at UK.

Falguni Bharteeya and me worked on selected 9 works for its musical presentation and recitation. In this project, musical presentation, vocals and recitation are done by me.

These days Falguni Bharteeya is in UK for a seminar organized by this UK based group of artists and she would present all these 9 tracks over there.

I have also made a video of one of these 9 tracks which is a translated version of an English poem on flood. After this post I am going to upload this video created by me.

Following is the list of these 9 tracks:
1- The Day the Waters Came (by Ray Hearne)
2- Je Di Umti Aavya Pur (English poem by Ray Hearne and Translated by Falguni Bharteeya)
3- The Ice Is Melting Fast (by Julie Boden)
4- Tvara Thi Pigalto Baraf (English poem by Julie Boden and Translated by Falguni Bharteeya)
5- Sister Mahi (by Brian Lewis and Translated by Kiran Joshi)
6- River Mahi (by Alka Macwan)
7- Castleford on Aire (English poem by Brian Lewis and Translated by Falguni Bharteeya)
8- Opening Prayer (English poem by Siobhan Mac Mahon and Translated by Pranav Dave)
9- A River on the Deathbed (by Adam Tankarvi and Rajendrasinh Jadeja)
